Our client is a group from European capitals whose main activity is in the fields of generation and distribution of electricity, natural gas, oil, and renewable energy. With more than 200,000 employees, it is one of the largest utility companies in the world. One of their branches performs Consultancy and applied Research and Innovation (R&I;) projects on the whole electricity value‑chain, including the fields of power generation, transmission, distribution, storage, and end‑use, with a focus on energy transition and the 3 Ds: decarbonization, decentralization, and digitalization.

As part of their consulting and R&I; activities, they are looking for a talented Portfolio Manager Flex Power (Americas) to lead projects for thermal assets, support a committed engineering team, and help their clients operate safely, efficiently and renewable‑ready. You’ll work across Chile, Peru, Mexico and North America, with occasional travel to Europe HQ.

Some responsibilities include:

Programme & project leadership

- Lead programme and project management for professional services in thermal power generation across the Americas.
- Manage the full project lifecycle—scope, schedule, budget, quality—ensuring high safety and performance standards.
- Act as the primary contact for clients and internal teams, aligning expectations and service standards.
- Drive risk management, issue resolution, and proactive contingency planning.





Technical support & operations

- Oversee site inspections, performance analysis, and troubleshooting for thermal assets (ideally gas‑fired).
- Support operational improvements and technical investigations.
- Collaborate closely with O&M; managers, asset managers, and technical teams.
- When needed, support projects outside the Americas.

The desirable candidate is an engineer, with a Master's degree in Electromechanics, Electrical Engineering, Energy, or equivalent by experience. He is expected to have experience in the energy sector, preferably in maintenance and troubleshooting of major power plant equipment. A team player with an analytical mindset; results driven and hands on. Fluent in English and Spanish. Willing to travel internationally; valid driving licence. Autonomous, proactive, and comfortable in an international context. Knowledge of the Peruvian and Chilean energy markets is a plus. Must have strong technical skills in at least one of the following:

1. Condition assessment and cycling of thermal generation assets
2. Performance improvement of thermal power plants
3. Technical investigations on thermal assets (gas fired adecuado)

The position is located in Las Condes, Santiago de Chile, and is hybrid, meaning the candidate can work from home two days per week.
