Overview
We require an enthusiastic Consultant Dermatologist to join our team of Dermatologists working between Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy, and Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline.
The appointee will support the skin cancer service, general dermatology clinics and head and neck surgery across two dedicated treatment centres with phototherapy facilities and specialist clinics, including paediatric, atopic dermatitis, contact dermatitis, hair and nail disorders, psoriasis, transplant surveillance, female dermatoses, and nurse-led services such as skin surgery, isotretinoin and biologic monitoring, iontophoresis, Botox, cryotherapy, skin cancer support, chronic skin disease management, leg ulcer clinics, and more.
The department is supported by dermatology nurses, ANPs, a specialist registrar, GP trainee, and speciality doctors, with close links to maxillofacial surgery, plastic surgery, and histopathology.
Responsibilities
Provide and lead skin cancer service and head and neck surgery.
Consult and manage patients in general dermatology clinics and specialist clinics.
Perform dermatological surgery, phototherapy, and nurse-led interventions (e.g., isotretinoin, biologic monitoring, iontophoresis, Botox, cryotherapy).
Collaborate with histopathology, maxillofacial, and plastic surgery teams.
Contribute to weekly postgraduate education in partnership with the Academic Department of Dermatology, Edinburgh.
Support research via the dedicated senior research nurse and collaborations with NHS Fife R&D.;
Qualifications
Full GMC registration, licence to practise and eligible for inclusion in the GMC Specialist Register.
UK-trained consultants with evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT, or within 6 months of confirmed entry from interview date.
Portfolio Pathway or CESR pathway doctors eligible once the award has been granted.
Non-UK applicants must demonstrate equivalent training and possess the knowledge, skills and experience required for UK specialist practice.
Right to work in the UK or eligibility to be sponsored must be confirmed before application.
