Job Summary

In this role you will prepare hydraulic / hydrologic calculations and reports for one or more projects, under the supervision of an experienced hydraulic engineering specialist. You will provide input to the hydrology & hydraulic portion of multidisciplinary engineering studies, coordinate solutions with other disciplines, and present results to the project team.

Major Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing hydraulic / hydrologic calculations, conceptual designs, studies, and reports, primarily for mining projects.
- Support multiple projects and studies worldwide concurrently, as needed.
- Meet scheduled milestones and budget constraints while following Bechtel procedures and maintaining high technical quality.
- Coordinate work tasks with other technical specialists, engineering disciplines, and project personnel.
- Participate in and foster a work environment based on openness, trust, communication, teamwork, and innovation.




- Exercise basic engineering judgment while performing assigned tasks.
- Engage in technical excellence activities, such as co‑authoring technical papers for conferences and staying abreast of technological developments.
- Support the hydraulic engineering lead in tracking progress of the work developed.

Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Industrial Engineering, or a related field with a major or specialization in Hydraulic/Hydrologic Engineering, and 1–3 years of hydraulic/hydrologic engineering experience.
- Preferred: MSc or PhD degree in the same specialty.

Required Knowledge & Skills
- Programming skills in R, Python, Matlab, Visual Basic, or similar.
- Basic experience with specialty computer programs such as HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS, SWMM, General Mapper, FluidFlow, or similar.
- Fluent communication in English and Spanish (verbal and written).
