Key Responsibilities

- Execute client’s order by working by contracted 3PL based on agreed SLAs
- Act as the primary lead for all external logistics partners, including warehouse providers and refrigerated transport carriers.
- Monitor and manage 3PL performance through rigorous KPIs (OTIF, temperature compliance, inventory accuracy).
- Conduct regular operational reviews and on-site inspections of provider facilities to ensure operational excellence and adherence to service level agreements (SLAs).

2. Cold-Chain Integrity & Quality Oversight

- Oversee the end-to-end cold-chain process for vaccines (2°C to 8°C, -20°C, and Ultra Low Temperature), ensuring providers utilize validated thermal packaging and calibrated monitoring equipment.
- Manage the validation and qualification of 3PL cold rooms and refrigerated fleets across Chile.
- Lead the investigation of any temperature excursions or logistics deviations in coordination with the provider’s quality team.

3. Planning, Optimization & Cost Control

- Identify opportunities for network optimization, such as route consolidation or improved secondary distribution models within the Chilean territory.
- Manage the logistics budget and verify 3PL billing accuracy against agreed rates and domestic transport tariffs.
- Develop contingency and "Ready-to-Respond" plans with providers to mitigate risks like social unrest, port strikes, or equipment failure.

Regulatory & Customs Compliance

- Ensure all external providers comply with ISP (Instituto de Salud Pública) Norma Técnica 147, 208 and Good Distribution Practices (GDP).
- Coordinate with customs brokers and 3PLs to ensure seamless import clearance for biological products, maintaining a perfect documentation trail for every shipment.
- Manage the logistics documentation flow, ensuring all legal and health requirements are met before product release.

Requirements

Education

- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Pharmacy, Logistics, or International Trade. Master’s degree or professional certification in Supply Chain/Cold-Chain is highly valued.

Experience

- Minimum of 5 years of experience in senior logistics roles, specifically managing 3PL providers in the pharmaceutical or vaccine sector within Chile.
- Third-Party Management: be able to select 3PL/4PL, negotiating contract, and performing auditing.
- Cold-Chain Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of active/passive cooling systems, data logger technology, and thermal mapping requirements.
- Chilean Regulatory Framework: Basic knowledge of ISP standards and the "Servicio Nacional de Aduanas" procedures for pharmaceutical imports, storage and distributions
- Advanced Excel/BI skills for vendor performance reporting; experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
