The Role
As part of a multi‑disciplinary team, the post holder will manage a defined caseload, using evidence‑based practice and person‑centred care to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions in both hospital and community settings. The post holder is expected to develop relevant clinical skills, knowledge and experience without direct supervision. The post is based within Inpatient Mental Health Services at UH Hairmyres as well as the Community Mental Health Team (CMHT). The working pattern for this role is Monday to Friday.
In This Key Role, You Will
- Be responsible for Occupational Therapy triage, assessment and rehabilitation for a defined caseload
- Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and modify treatment interventions to meet individual patient needs
- Be responsible for the assessment and prescription of equipment to optimise patients’ occupational performance
- Assess capacity to engage in Occupational Therapy; gain informed consent and work within a legal framework with patients
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Occupational Therapy
- Registered Occupational Therapist with valid HCPC Registration
- Knowledge of application of the theory underpinning OT practice
- Excellent team working skills with the ability to work using own initiative
- A driving licence is required; this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.
