The Work You'll Do

As a Java/Go Developer, you will play a pivotal role in designing and implementing scalable solutions that address complex business challenges. You will collaborate across teams to understand customer needs and deliver high-value software products. Leading by example, you will mentor others, champion code quality, and foster a culture of continual learning. Your expertise will drive the development, testing, and deployment of robust applications, ensuring they meet both functional and non‑functional requirements. You will actively contribute to technical documentation and participate in knowledge‑sharing initiatives, helping Sovos maintain its reputation for excellence in software engineering.

More Specifically, You Will

- Mentor and guide software engineers, fostering professional growth and technical excellence
- Lead the development, testing, and deployment of complex software applications
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams, including Product and Architecture, to align on technical decisions
- Conduct peer code reviews to ensure high standards of quality
- Integrate technology, process, testing, and business practices for optimal solutions
- Develop and implement testing protocols to ensure comprehensive product validation
- Author and contribute to technical design documentation, release notes, and bug fix records
- Champion continuous improvement in development practices, including CI/CD

What We Need From You

- 8+ years of proven experience in software engineering using Java, Go and/or Python
- 2+ years providing mentoring and architectural contributions, code reviewing
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills
- Expertise in Java (11+) with Spring Boot, microservices, Maven/Gradle, and Golang for high‑performance services
- Experience with REST API design, authentication (OAuth2/JWT), and documentation (OpenAPI/Swagger)
- Proficiency with at least one frontend framework (React, Vue, or Angular)
- Strong skills in version control using Git/GitHub




- Experience deploying and operating containerised applications in AWS Cloud, Docker, and Kubernetes
- Ability to communicate technical decisions to non‑technical stakeholders and collaborate with distributed teams
