Overview

Lanarkshire Dermatology welcomes two locum consultant dermatologists to join a forward-thinking department that has become a leader in active clinical referral triage across Scotland.

Responsibilities
- Triage and review urgent suspicion of cancer referrals, ensuring high-quality dermoscopy images and maintaining skin‑cancer waiting times.
- Provide clinical assessment and management for patients, working closely with multidisciplinary team members including dermatology pharmacists and specialist nurses.
- Support consultant‑led surgical training and actively participate in the shared Mohs service within the Forth Valley.
- Collaborate with general paediatrics and regional paediatric dermatology to develop and deliver sub‑specialty clinics.
- Engage in teaching medical students and support research and quality‑improvement initiatives across the department.
- Develop and propose additional SPA time for activities such as quality improvement, medical education, research and appraisals.

Qualifications




- Board‑certified consultant in dermatology or equivalent clinical qualification.
- Proven experience in dermoscopy, skin‑cancer management and referral triage.
- Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment.
- Interest and experience in teaching, research or quality‑improvement programmes preferred.
