We operate under the regulatory standards of the Comisión para el Mercado Financiero (CMF) and the Unidad de Análisis Financiero (UAF), and we are seeking an experienced legal and compliance professional to strengthen our team.
About the Role
The Legal & Compliance Officer is the Branch's institutional Compliance Officer. You will safeguard the legal and reputational integrity of the Branch, lead its compliance management framework, and act as the designated Compliance Officer before the CMF and the UAF.
The role partners with the AML Compliance Officer on the AML/CFT and Economic Crimes Prevention Programme, owns the Crime Prevention Model under Laws No. 20.393 and 21.595, and supports Senior Management and governance bodies on legal and regulatory matters.
You will report directly to the General Manager and functionally to the Compliance Committee, with full professional autonomy in your technical and regulatory mandate.
Key Responsibilities
Legal Management
- Coordinate external legal counsel and ensure quality of legal services to the Branch.
- Provide legal opinions on corporate, contractual, regulatory, labor, and tax matters.
- Review key banking transaction documents — guarantee letters, promissory notes, and similar instruments — for legal soundness and enforceability.
- Lead legal verifications and reports as part of KYC procedures, in coordination with Corporate Banking.
- Maintain corporate legal records, including powers of attorney and statutory filings, in coordination with external counsel.
- Monitor legal and regulatory developments and communicate implications to the Branch.
Compliance & Regulatory Function (CMF & UAF)
- Act as the Branch's designated Compliance Officer before the CMF
