**Project Overview**:
Mining and Metals:
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel, our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.

**Job Summary**:
The purpose of this position is to develop data sheets, specifications for mechanical equipment, material requisitions and technical evaluations of tenders with mínimal supervision. The Mechanical Engineer will have extensive knowledge of water equipment suppliers. The mechanical engineer will interact and participate in meetings regularly with other Bechtel offices,



mainly those in Houston and New Delhi. Interaction and meetings with other Bechtel offices are conducted in English.
- "This position is designated as part-time telework per our integral telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership_

**Major Responsibilities**:

- Developing data sheets, specifications for mechanical equipment, material requisitions and technical evaluations of tenders with mínimal supervision.
- Performing work using Bechtel's Standard Application Programs (BSAP).
- Coordinating engineering efforts in assigned areas between the specialty and other engineering groups or disciplines, with the client, suppliers and contractors and among other groups.
- When delegated, assuming a technical leadership role over other engineers or subgroups of the project to complete specific tasks.
- Preparing or assisting in the preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports or proposals.
- Preparing or assisting in the preparation of cost estimates, quantity calculations and staffing requirements for proposals, forecasts and change orders.
- Reviewing and checking the work of subordinate engineers.
- Fostering a working environment that promotes transparency, trust, communication, teamwork,



training, innovation and motivation.

**Education and Experience Requirements**:
Requires a degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited college or university with 8 to 12 years of relevant work experience in water treatment, to integrate the Water team of the discipline ERW (Environmental, Regulatory and Water), based in Chile.

**Required Knowledge and Skills**:

- Intermediate-advanced English level and proficiency in technical English. Proficiency in oral and written communication.
- Practical experience in design as a mechanical engineer. Experience in the field will be valued.
- Able to develop data sheets, specifications for mechanical equipment, material requisitions and technical evaluations of tenders.
- Able to produce a well-structured report in which various options are logically evaluated and a recommendation is presented.
- Understanding of engineering planning and control methods.
- Knowledge of the roles played by other departments on projects, including basic construction practices and economics.
- Knowledge of industrial or regulatory codes and standards and design criteria relevant to the engineering discipline in question.
