Job Overview

Plan A Technologies is looking for a Senior Android Product Designer to support Android parity for a mobile app under accelerated timelines. This role will focus on delivering feature and experience parity with the existing iOS product while thoughtfully applying Android‑specific patterns and best practices. The contractor will partner closely with product and engineering to deliver high‑quality, production‑ready designs in a fast‑paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

- Design Android experiences that achieve parity with iOS while respecting Android conventions and Material Design standards
- Translate existing iOS features into scalable, native Android solutions (not direct replicas)
- Work within an established design system and contribute to Android‑specific components as needed
- Collaborate closely with product managers and Android engineers to align on scope, feasibility, and timelines
- Deliver mid‑ and high‑fidelity designs ready for engineering implementation under accelerated schedules
- Iterate quickly based on feedback, technical constraints, and changing priorities

Experience

- 5+ years of professional product design experience, with deep, hands‑on focus on Android design




- Strong portfolio demonstrating shipped Android apps and mobile‑first problem solving
- Expert knowledge of Material Design, Android UI patterns, and platform constraints
- Proven ability to adapt designs across platforms while maintaining usability and quality
- Experience working in fast‑paced product environments with compressed timelines
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently as a contractor
- Experience working on platform parity initiatives (iOS/Android)
- Familiarity with mobile design systems at scale
- Previous experience partnering with distributed or cross‑functional teams
- Excellent communication skills with solid written and verbal English skills
- Ability to maintain a positive work attitude
- Initiative and drive to do great things
