An exciting and new opportunity has arisen for an experienced, enthusiastic and motivated pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC with extensive post‑qualification experience to join our pharmacy team.
The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, support staff, nurses, and administrators. The team works across acute and community hospital sites, general practices, mental health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multidisciplinary team, including our community pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
Responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership and management of the aseptic dispensing unit.
- Use expert knowledge to ensure safe, high‑quality preparation and supply of aseptically dispensed medicines.
- Work independently and as part of the pharmacy team and wider multidisciplinary team.
- Communicate effectively and build good relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
- Manage staff and lead a team.
- Work variable shifts between 07:00‑17:00 Monday to Friday and participate in a weekend and public holiday rota.
Qualifications
- Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC, with extensive post‑qualification experience.
- Experience managing staff and leading a team.
- Must be a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme prior to appointment.
- Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom or eligibility for sponsorship.
- Demonstrated professional competence for aseptic dispensing services.
