Objective
We have an excellent opportunity available for a highly competent, detail-oriented lawyer to make a difference at Kraft Heinz.
The position is based in Santiago, Chile, and will be part of the WEEM Legal Team and Hispanics Leadership Team.
The Legal Counsel will work closely with the Legal Team and the business to support from a commercial, and operations perspective on the day-to-day matters and strategic projects.
Responsibilities
Legal Team leadership, management and development of promoting practical solutions, efficiency, collaboration with cross function areas upholding ethical standards.
Legal advice on a broad range of legal issues including, such as business risks and mitigation actions, contracts, commercial, mercantile, corporate, litigation, labour & employment, advertising laws, regulatory landscape, competition and anti-trust laws, intellectual property, food law and others on legal landscape.
Managing various projects and deadlines.
Identify and mitigate risks and opportunities.
Support governance initiatives, entity management and board-related matters within the Hispanics region.
Horizon scanning and research unique legal issues impacting the organization by identifying applicable statutes, judicial decisions, and codes.
Keep abreast of legislative changes that may affect the company and its affiliates working on strategically on advocacy and engagement with external stakeholders.
Develop practical solutions to complex legal questions.




Interface with Government Authorities, management, and coordination of external services provided by law firms and consultants.
The Hispanics Legal Director reports to the WEEM General Counsel and would have reporting into it the lawyers across Hispanics Markets (South America, excluding Brazil, Caribbean and Central America).
It ´s part also of the Hispanics Leadership Team.
Requisitions
Qualified lawyer admitted to practice law in Chile.
Minimum ***** years post-qualification and in-house lawyer leadership and part of the experience in law firm.
Must be fluent in English.
Familiarity with food-related regulations.
Experience in Corporate Affairs, including the representation and engagement with Trade Associations, Government Authorities and Regulatory entities.
Experience in local manufacturing operations and litigation management and preventive actions.
Experience in compliance.
Strong interpersonal skills capable of engaging senior management, influencing and adding business value while ensuring decisions are made independently and in compliance with law and Company policies.
Growth and probusiness mindset.
Capable of handling a broad range of legal matters to deliver timely and pragmatic support to the organization.
Capable of working autonomously yet collaboratively – you will work independently as the sole legal support to the local organization while part of a bigger team spread across the WEEM – (West and East Emerging Markets) Zone.
Strong business/commercial acumen.
Strong leadership, presence and communication skill.
Proactive and hands-on mindset.
