I. Purpose of the Job
To perform and maintain the Branch's accounting operations with a high degree of technical expertise, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and regulatory compliance of financial records.
The role combines deep knowledge of banking accounting standards and Chilean tax regulations with responsibility for the preparation of regulatory reports, financial analysis, and liquidity indicators — supporting the Finance & Accounting Manager and the Chief Accountant in meeting internal and external reporting obligations.
This role applies expert technical judgment to complex accounting tasks, identifies process improvements, and may provide guidance to junior accounting staff.
It operates with significant autonomy on analytical and execution matters within the established control framework.
II.
Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Liquidity Management
Monitor and control liquidity indicators on a daily basis, calculating and reporting required liquidity ratios and escalating anomalies to the Finance & Accounting Manager and Chief Accountant promptly.
Conduct the Liquidity Adequacy Assessment Process (ILAAP), including methodology application, data analysis, scenario assessment, and report preparation.
Perform intraday liquidity monitoring, including cash flow tracking, payment settlement capacity assessment, and management of intraday funding needs.
Perform liquidity stress testing and assess the impact on funding and liquidity positions.
Prepare and submit liquidity-related management reports and regulatory reports in an accurate and timely manner.
Coordinate with Treasury, Risk Management, and Business Units to assess the liquidity impact of new products, transactions, and business initiatives.
Maintain effective communication with CMF, and provide timely responses and feedback to regulatory inquiries and issues.
2. Regulatory Reporting
Prepare, review, and submit periodic regulatory reports to the CMF and Central Bank of Chile within applicable deadlines, ensuring full accuracy, completeness, and compliance with current regulatory requirements.
Monitor regulatory developments from the CMF, Central Bank, and SII that may affect accounting or financial reporting obligations, and communicate relevant changes to the Finance & Accounting Manager.
Maintain organized and audit-ready documentation supporting all regulatory submissions, ensuring records are available for regulatory inspection or internal audit review at all times.
3. Accounting Operations & Financial Reporting
Execute daily accounting entries with accuracy and within required timeframes,



maintaining the integrity of the Branch's general ledger in accordance with Chilean banking accounting standards (CMF) and applicable IFRS requirements.
Prepare and review bank reconciliations regularly, investigating discrepancies and ensuring full alignment between accounting records and bank statements.
Prepare periodic accounting reports with analytical commentary on account movements and balance sheet positions, supporting management decision-making and internal governance.
Lead or actively support the month-end and year-end closing process, including preparation of balance sheet closings, accruals, provisions, and supporting schedules for financial statements.
Prepare notes to the financial statements in accordance with applicable reporting standards, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and consistency with underlying records.
4 Tax Compliance Support
Apply solid knowledge of Chilean tax concepts to support the preparation and review of tax obligations, including monthly and annual filings, in coordination with the FMD Associate responsible for tax execution.
Contribute analytical support to the annual income tax process in coordination with external tax advisors, providing required reconciliations, account analyses, and documentation.
Review DDJJ reports and other tax submissions for accuracy and completeness before submission.
5. Internal Controls & Governance
Ensure all accounting operations comply with the Branch's internal control framework, BoC Group policies, and applicable Chilean regulatory requirements.
Identify accounting discrepancies, unusual entries, or process gaps, propose corrective actions, and elevate material issues to the Finance & Accounting Manager.
Cooperate with internal and external auditors, providing requested documentation, account analyses, and reconciliations within agreed timelines.
Provide technical guidance to junior accounting staff on accounting treatments, regulatory requirements, and process standards as required.
III.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience Requirements
Education & Qualifications
University degree in Accounting (Contador Auditor), Management Control Engineering, or a related field.
Professional accounting certification is required.
Technical Knowledge / Know-How
Deep knowledge of Chilean banking accounting standards (CMF regulations) and IFRS as applicable to financial institutions.




Strong understanding of liquidity risk indicators and their calculation and control requirements.
Solid knowledge of Chilean tax regulations including IVA, impuesto a la renta, and SII filing requirements.
Experience with regulatory reporting to CMF and Central Bank.
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel for financial analysis and reconciliation.
Experience with accounting systems used in the banking sector.
Skills and Competencies
High degree of accuracy, analytical rigor, and process discipline.
Ability to manage complex accounting tasks and multiple reporting deadlines simultaneously.
Strong written and verbal communication in Spanish.
Advanced or bilingual English is desirable for Head Office interaction.
Ability to work independently and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
Experience
4–7 years of progressive experience in accounting or financial reporting roles within the banking or financial services industry.
Demonstrated experience with CMF and Central Bank regulatory reporting is required.
Prior experience preparing financial statements or notes under IFRS is an advantage.
IV.
Decision-Making & Autonomy
Operates with significant professional autonomy on accounting, regulatory reporting, and financial analysis tasks within the established control framework.
Applies expert technical judgment to complex accounting treatments, liquidity calculations, and regulatory submissions without requiring case-by-case supervision on standard matters.
Escalates to the Finance & Accounting Manager or Chief Accountant on matters with material financial, regulatory, or compliance implications.

Additional Notes
This role handles sensitive financial and regulatory information and is subject to strict confidentiality obligations.
The role holder is expected to maintain current knowledge of Chilean accounting standards, tax regulations, and CMF/Central Bank reporting requirements, and to proactively communicate relevant regulatory developments to the Finance & Accounting Manager.
Work Modality (On-site Requirement)
This position is performed exclusively on-site at Bank of China, Agencia en Chile.
Remote work or teleworking arrangements are not applicable due to operational, security, and internal control requirements.
