Overview

Brunel is supporting a major mining client in the search for an experienced Lead Planner / Scheduler to support large-scale capital mining projects in Chile. This is a senior-level project controls leadership role overseeing planning and scheduling activities across complex engineering and construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead all planning and scheduling activities across major capital projects
- Develop, maintain, and oversee integrated master project schedules
- Manage project progress tracking, forecasting, reporting, and schedule performance
- Identify schedule risks, delays, scope changes, and potential impacts to the project
- Work closely with project management, engineering, procurement, contracts, and construction teams
- Analyze critical path activities and recommend recovery plans or mitigation strategies
- Support project risk management activities including identification, tracking, and mitigation of risks
- Ensure schedule baselines, version control, and planning processes follow company standards
- Prepare project reports, presentations, and schedule analysis for leadership teams
- Lead and mentor planners and schedulers within the project controls team
- Support staffing, development, and performance management of planning personnel
- Participate in change management processes and ensure schedule impacts are documented properly

What They Are Looking For





- Strong experience leading planning and scheduling on large engineering or construction projects
- Experience working on mining, heavy industrial, or mega-project environments
- Strong knowledge of project controls, forecasting, progress measurement, and risk management
- Ability to manage integrated schedules and analyze schedule performance
- Experience using Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar scheduling software
- Experience with cost estimating and project controls processes is preferred
- Ability to work cross-functionally with multiple project teams and stakeholders
- Fluent in both English and Spanish

Qualifications

Option 1

- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or related field
- Minimum 10 years of relevant construction/project controls experience
- Minimum 6 years in a leadership role within planning and scheduling

Option 2

- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum 15 years of relevant engineering, construction, or project controls experience
- Minimum 6 years in a leadership role within planning and scheduling

Additional Requirements

- Experience with metal mining construction projects preferred
- Experience supporting large capital or mega projects
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong communication and leadership capabilities
