Asset Management Analyst – Santiago, Chile
Opdenergy is a growing independent renewable energy producer (IPP) with presence in Europe, the United States, and Latin America, with more than 21 years of experience. The company develops, builds, finances, manages, and operates high-quality renewable energy projects across multiple countries. Its portfolio includes 2.6 GW (1.3 GW operational and over 1.3 GW ready to build or under construction), with a total development pipeline exceeding 18 GW.
We are currently looking for an Asset Management Analyst based inChile to give support to our projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial and operational performance of assigned SPVs during construction and operational phases, ensuring compliance with approved budgets, financial models and business plans.
- Monitor project cash flows, revenues and operating costs, performing detailed variance analysis and identifying risks and improvement opportunities.
- Support the execution of debt drawdowns, debt service payments and sponsor distributions, ensuring alignment with financing agreements and internal approval processes.
- Review and analyze SPV financial statements under IFRS, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with local regulations.
- Ensure timely control of invoicing, collections and reconciliation of energy balances and regulatory settlements.
Contractual Compliance & Reporting
- Monitor compliance with reporting obligations and financial covenants under financing agreements and material project contracts (PPAs, O&M;, EPC, insurance and others).
- Support, prepare, review and submit financial reports, covenant calculations and key financial ratios to lenders and financial institutions.
- Support the management of legal waivers,
consents and amendments in coordination with Legal and Corporate Finance teams.
- Assist in the issuance and renewal of project guarantees, letters of credit and other financial instruments when required.
- Report to local regulatory bodies (SII, Banco Central de Chile, CEN, CNE, INE and other relevant authorities), ensuring full regulatory and reporting compliance.
Financial Control, Risk & Process Improvement
- Conduct financial and economic analysis of projects, identifying deviations, risks and potential efficiency improvements.
- Propose and implement process optimization methodologies within the Asset Management function to enhance reporting accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders (Finance, Legal, Operations, Development and Tax teams) to ensure consistent and integrated asset management practices.
What You Will Be Responsible For?
- Financial monitoring of projects during construction and operation phases.
- Review, update and monitor existing financial models, ensuring consistency with actual performance and approved budgets.
- Preparation of lender reporting packages and covenant compliance certificates.
- Control and analysis of project revenues, costs and regulatory settlements.
- Monitoring compliance with financing agreements and supporting lender communications.
- Review of SPV financial statements under IFRS standards.
- Continuous improvement of reporting tools and internal controls.
- Perform other duties and assignments as directed by the direct reporting line, in accordance with Asset Management needs and priorities.
Who You Are?
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration, Engineering or similar.
- At least 3-5 years of experience in Asset Management, Project Finance, Financial Controlling or similar positions within the energy or infrastructure sector.
- Strong knowledge of financing agreements, financial covenant, lender reporting project finance structures.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (financial modeling, pivot tables, advanced formulas), Word and PowerPoint.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP S/4Hana or similar).
- High level of English (written and spoken).
- Analytical mindset, attention to detail and risk-oriented thinking.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with lenders and external stakeholders.
- Proactive attitude, structured thinking and capacity to work autonomously in complex project environments.
