Job OverviewThe Department of Earth Sciences of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at the University of Concepción, Chile, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (44 hours) to join the Department.ResponsibilitiesTeach undergraduate and graduate courses in Geological Sciences, with a focus on Economic Geology or Engineering Geology.Develop and deliver curriculum in Spanish and certify proficiency for non-native speakers.Lead and manage research area at national or international level.Participate in faculty service and outreach/engagement activities.QualificationsBachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) or professional title of Geologist.PhD in Geological Sciences or equivalent.Experience in university‑level teaching in Geological Sciences,



preferably Economic or Engineering Geology.Scientific research record with participation in projects and WoS‑indexed publications meeting CNA doctoral level guidelines.Ability to propose new research area and demonstrate feasibility of research projects.Fluency in Spanish; non‑native speakers must certify proficiency.Application ProcessQualified candidates should submit the following documents by August 3, 2026.
