You will become an integrated member of the multidisciplinary team ensuring that patients receive high‑quality pharmaceutical care within the ICU and surgical ward environment. You will support the education and training of other pharmacy professionals to contribute to patient care. You will be an educational supervisor and collaborator for pharmacy undergraduates, trainees and pharmacists undertaking their RPS foundation or advanced core training.Additional Information Specific To The RoleUniversity Hospital Monklands currently hosts a variety of surgical specialities including Lanarkshire’s inpatient services for ear, nose, and throat (ENT) and urology. As a post‑holder you would be a key member of the hospital Nutritional Support Team, leading on prescribing parenteral nutrition throughout the hospital.It is an exciting time in NHS Lanarkshire with expanding roles for the pharmacy team.
The post holder will lead on the introduction of pharmacist‑led pre‑assessment clinics and take part in INSPIRE clinics alongside members of the surgical MDT.Shift pattern – Monday to Friday – 08:30 – 17:00 over 9 days.The Highly Specialist Clinical Pharmacist will be required to lead, develop, deliver and evaluate clinical pharmacy services to the surgical and theatres directorate in accordance with the objectives set between the on‑site Hospital Pharmacy Manager and the Principal Clinical /Deputy Pharmacy Manager. To act as a role model and provide a consistently high‑quality pharmaceutical service.In This Key Role, You WillLead clinical pharmacy services for patients admitted to, or treated within, the area of responsibility in accordance with the priorities set by the post holder, Hospital Pharmacy Manager, Lead Pharmacist Primary Care or Lead Pharmacist Advanced Clinical Services, and Clinical Director to ensure safe, effective and cost‑efficient use of medicines in these patients.Deliver pharmaceutical care, as defined above,
