Overview

The Facultad de Ciencias (FdeC) and the Instituto de Ciencias Exactas y Naturales (ICEN) at Universidad Arturo Prat, Iquique, Chile, invite young researchers to be considered for the FONDECYT Postdoctoral Fellowship 2027. The position is for 2–3 years and the successful candidate should begin in 2027.

Research Interests

- Renormalization and asymptotic charges in AdS gravity
- Holographic quantum information in AdS/CFT
- Gauge theories of gravitation
- Modified gravity theories in different dimensions
- Exact and numerical solutions
- Cosmological models
- Asymptotic symmetries
- Lie‑algebra expansions

Responsibilities

To interact and collaborate with FdeC‑ICEN faculty members and graduate students.



No mandatory teaching duties are required.

Qualifications

Applicants must have obtained their Ph.D. within the last three years.

Benefits and Compensation

The fellowship provides a competitive salary of approximately 24,000 USD per year (after 13% taxes) and health insurance of about 600 USD per year. The budget includes installation expenses of approximately 3,700 USD and operating costs of approximately 5,500 USD per year, which can be used for traveling, computational equipment, and peripheral staff.
