Job Overview

The Department of Earth Sciences of the Faculty of Chemical Sciences at the University of Concepción, Chile, invites applications for a full-time Assistant Professor (44 hours) to join the Department.

Responsibilities

- Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Geological Sciences, with a focus on Economic Geology or Engineering Geology.
- Develop and deliver curriculum in Spanish and certify proficiency for non-native speakers.
- Lead and manage research area at national or international level.
- Participate in faculty service and outreach/engagement activities.

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree (Licenciatura) or professional title of Geologist.
- PhD in Geological Sciences or equivalent.
- Experience in university‑level teaching in Geological Sciences, preferably Economic or Engineering Geology.
- Scientific research record with participation in projects and WoS‑indexed publications meeting CNA doctoral level guidelines.




- Ability to propose new research area and demonstrate feasibility of research projects.
- Fluency in Spanish; non‑native speakers must certify proficiency.
