About the Role

Do you want to be at the heart of digital innovation and safer use of medicines? NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Directorate invites an experienced pharmacist to play a pivotal role in the rollout of the Health Electronic Prescription and Medicines Administration (HEPMA) system across our hospital sites. This is a chance to be at the forefront of digital change, shaping how medicines are prescribed, administered, and monitored to improve safety, efficiency, and patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

- Embed HEPMA into clinical practice and support staff through the change process.
- Ensure the system delivers real benefits for patients and professionals.
- Work closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high‑quality, patient‑centred care.
- Collaborate with site pharmacy teams, wider multidisciplinary teams and the Digital & Information Pharmacy Team.
- Contribute to the digital and clinical tasks that support the implementation of HEPMA.
- Participate in rotas for weekends, public holidays and the on‑call pharmacy service, with adjustments during HEPMA roll‑out periods.
- Apply good team working, project management and interpersonal skills,

alongside a strong foundation in pharmacy practice.

Working Arrangements

The post is hybrid, based at Victoria Hospital in Kirkcaldy, with a requirement to work across NHS Fife sites during implementation. Remote working may also be needed.

Eligibility

Applicants must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom. Where a right to work is not already established, sponsorship may be required.

Additional Information

Existing permanent employees must first discuss this opportunity with their substantive line manager. The secondment policy can be found on the NHS Fife portal.
