Overview
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the team within our Cardiology Department. The Cardiology Unit is a 26‑bed ward with both Cardio and General Medical patients, and the role also includes work in an 8‑bed CCU ward.
Responsibilities
- Provide support to the registered nursing team by carrying out an extended range of assigned clinical tasks and direct patient care.
- Deliver high‑quality, patient‑focused care in a busy and demanding environment.
- Contribute to service development as a team player and work independently when required.
- Assist with associated administrative duties.
- Work on a rotational schedule, including days, nights and weekends.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working within a healthcare setting.
- Completion of SVQ 3 preferred but not essential.
- Ability to adapt to change and work without direct supervision.
Working Conditions
From 1 April 2026,
the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reducing from 37 to 36 hours per week, with a corresponding increase in hourly rate to keep pay unaffected. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata.
Additional Requirements
- Must become a member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.
- Must demonstrate right to work in the UK (e.g., visa, EU settled status, etc.).
