About the Role
- Reporting to the Lead Procurement Value Chain Global Mining, the role drives performance and excellence through the Procurement team, delivering world class commercial outcomes for BHP’s operations in Chile.
Main Accountabilities:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Develop effective relationships with internal business leaders to understand business requirements, to forecast demand,
and verify established contracts are effective.
- Identify opportunities to execute initiatives to reduce external spend.
- Develops collaborative relationships with suppliers to ensure optimum delivery quality and sustained performance in line with business objectives.
- Identifies and implements improvement initiatives in the Mining category, managing our portfolio and creating synergies with other subfunctions.
- Work collaboratively across Commercial (Region, General and across sub-functions) and operational stakeholders to develop and execute category strategies, opportunities to reduce external spend through demand, price and productivity levers.
- Collects requirements and analyses key data inputs from multiple sources (internal and external) to build robust category and sourcing strategies.
- Leading sourcing and negotiation strategies using market intelligence and best practice tools such as clean sheeting, TCO analysis etc.
