CDM Smith is seeking an energetic and highly motivated skilled Tolls Facility Project Manager to lead and perform the technical design and delivery of tolling roadside infrastructure. This role offers career growth through diverse projects, including toll facilities, ITS, and express/managed lanes road technology infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare project scope of work, staff-hour estimates, and support contract negotiations.
- Oversee the design and coordination of toll facility plans across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, and electrical components, ensuring compliance with toll agency standards.
- Develop, review, and deliver high-quality reports, calculations, and engineering plans/specifications for toll and ITS infrastructure projects.
- Lead the development of engineering deliverables, plan and distribute discipline-specific tasks, ensuring adherence to schedules and budgets.
- Provide technical oversight and guidance for all project phases, from planning and design to construction and post-design support.
- Conduct interdisciplinary reviews, ensuring alignment across multiple technical disciplines.
- Perform quality control reviews and ensure deliverables meet high standards for accuracy and scope compliance.
- Collaborate with project managers, clients, and team members to address design challenges and ensure successful project outcomes.
- Provide technical guidance to less experienced project team members.
- Support marketing efforts, including proposal preparation and business development initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
**Minimum Qualifications**
- Bachelor's Degree.
- 7 years of related experience.
- PMP (PMI), CCM or DBIA certification is required (within 12 months of hire or promotion onto the Approved Project Manager list).
- Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
**Preferred Qualifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering (M.S. preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) certification
- Familiarity with toll facilities and limited-access roadway projects is highly desirable.
- Relevant experience in toll infrastructure, operations, and intelligent transportation systems (ITS), including fiber-optic communication design, video systems, computer hardware/software, toll collection systems and sub-systems, electronic payment systems, and traffic management.
- Knowledge of FDOT plans production processes and familiarity with FTE General Tolling Requirements (GTR) is a strong advantage.

- Experience working with project management methodology including budget development, project planning,
control and assurance methodologies, project management software and finance and accounting concepts and practices. Demonstrates good communications skills, both verbal and written. Possesses in-depth knowledge of project goals, drivers, strategies, risks and opportunities. Work requires verbal skills, ability to interact with varying levels of staff, as well as vendors. Good interpersonal and presentation skills for interacting with team members and clients. Ability to deal with many people and process a large volume of requests as necessary. Good personal computer skills including advanced knowledge in the use of MS Word and Excel. Demonstrates organizational skills to balance and prioritize work.
