Environmental Remediation Project Geologist at GHD, Santiago, Chile.

Job Description

Our Environmental business in Santiago is looking for an Environmental Engineer, Geologist or Hydrogeologist to contribute to our Contamination Assessment & Remediation service line through coordination and implementation of a wide range of environmental solutions and projects. The role will be based in Santiago, Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile.

The main purpose of the role is to perform geological or hydrogeological assessments for projects that involve investigation and assessment of contamination of different environmental matrices (soil, groundwater, and others). The incumbent will create technical reports to inform proposals, budgets, and support environmental impact assessments and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure projects or projects to address environmental challenges. Using knowledge from various scientific disciplines, the role may include collection and synthesis of samples and environmental data, and recommend action based on data derived from measurements.





Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of project related technical documents including proposals, environmental reports, technical specifications, and drawings for review.
- Be accountable to a general team, demonstrating the ability to work seamlessly across different time zones.
- Manage tasks to a reasonable point, seek clarification, and resume work with minimal rework.
- Coordinate field work associated with environmental investigations, OM&M; sites, and remediation activities, including drilling, soil sampling, well installation, groundwater sampling, surface water sampling, excavation, vapour sampling, etc.

Skills, Competencies and Qualifications
- Graduate of a relevant Bachelor of Geology, Environmental Engineering, Bachelor of Applied Science, or equivalent program.
- 3-5 years of experience in the environmental engineering field.
- Flexible with project types and responsibilities
