**Qualifications and Experience**
Degree and teaching certificate that covers SAL
- Minimum of 3 years relevant teaching experience
- Cross cultural experience and understanding
- Must be fluent in both Spanish and English
- Experience working in an inclusive, multicultural school environment

Ability to create an engaging, active, student-centered learning environment
- Ability to differentiate instruction in a class with diverse learning needs and diverse language
- backgrounds
- Ability to connect with MS students and celebrate their unique stage of development
- Flexibility to adapt to changing instructional needs and/or scheduling needs
- Good organizational skills
- Strong skills of collaboration

**Primary Responsibilities**




- Use the school's guiding statements to determine appropriate learning objectives
- Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where all students feel safe and cared for
- Understand and use best practices connected with language acquisition
- Monitor and evaluate student progress and achievement in relation to learning objectives
- Use a body of learning evidence to inform instruction
- Maintain accurate records of student growth and performance for the purposes of feedback

and reporting
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues in creating authentic learning experiences that

promote student choice and student agency
- Communicate effectively with SAL department members and the MS teaching team
- Contribute to the school community outside of the classroom (e.g., after-school activities,
- coaching, etc.)
- Maintain an orderly and safe classroom environment
- Actively seek professional growth opportunities through Nido’s PD Academy
