C&R; is broadly organised by key functions: Product Development, Professional Services, Sales & Marketing and Operations (including DevOps, Support, DB Engineering & Ops, Cyber Security).

**The Position - DevOps Cloud Engineer**:
The Cloud Services Management (CSM) team is seeking an experienced DevOps Cloud Engineer who thrives working in a fast-paced, state-of-the-art public cloud environment. The role, principally focused on AWS infrastructure, is blend of client-centric project delivery, level2 operational technical support and continuous service improvement through automation and self-services tool provisioning.

They are expected to work closely with internal technical regional and global teams, client-delivery centric Professional Services teams, AWS, vendors and, occasionally,



directly with clients both on a project/programme and BAU support footing.

**Primary Responsibilities**:
Act as the bridge between the product development and level 1 operations/support teams, ensuring continuity of service, ongoing continuous improvement and technical excellence to facilitate both a fast & efficient product evolution cycle and outstanding client experience outcomes.

Working in a cross-functional capacity across multiple teams, identify and drive to closure any operational gaps with a particular focus on metrics, automation, cost/risk, performance, reliability and cloud best-practices.

Work closely with Project Managers and Scrum Masters to compile, estimate, prioritise and deliver internal and external technical project requirements.

Working, on a shift basis as level 2/3 support, to own incidents escalated within defined SLAs.

Define and document standard run books and operating procedures. Create and maintain

system information and architecture diagrams.

Accountability for performing periodic release deployments across Dev, CQA and Production environments with appropriate rigour within client-contracted maintenance windows.

**Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
Bachelor's degree in CS or equivalent with 7+ years of professional experience, ideally gained within a financial services industry environment

Java Application Development/Support experience will be an advantage





Experience of AWS network constructs (VPC, Security Groups, Route Tables, Firewalls), secure network connectivity mechanisms (VPN, Zero Trust, Proxies, etc.) and troubleshooting

Experience of leveraging scripting languages (e.g. Shell, Perl, Python, Ruby) and CI/CD tools (Terraform and CloudFormation) for BAU support, task automation and environment/release management

In-depth experience of Linux environments (Red Hat) - developer/administrator level

Understanding of development methodologies including Scrum, Agile, Kanban and test
- driven development and toolsets (Jira, Confluence, Jenkins, Puppet) and interfacing with Product Development, Architecture and Engineering teams

Experience with support of service request, release management, incident resolution, root cause analysis and change management processes within a Development and/or Production environment

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Has helped to develop documentation of technical processes, workflows, processes, procedures and run books.

Knowledge of industry cyber security principles, vulnerability remediation practices and secrets management

Proven ability to strategically analyse the risks, benefits, and opportunities associated with a solution

Working knowledge of database tiers/concepts, SQL and interfacing with DB Ops/Engineering teams, ideally within an AWS Postgres Aurora/RDS environment

Familiarity with Kubernetes, infrastructure as code, containers container orchestration technologies and cluster/server load balancing.
