Please note: These shifts will initially be based at Minor Injuries Unit (MIU), QMH on a temporary basis. It is expected that from early 2027, the post holder will work primarily at VHK with only occasional requirements to provide cover at MIU, QMH.
About the Role
We require a Clerical Officer to provide admin/clerical support within the Health Records Department at Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy.
It will be the job holder’s responsibility to work within the DHRS team, covering A&E; at VHK and occasionally at MIU, QMH.
Working in A&E; and MIU,
the job holder must provide a front line service to patients arriving at each department and is vital for the provision of recording of patient attendance and admissions via Trakcare. The role requires confidence in dealing with anxious and upset patients/relatives, showing empathy and delivering professional customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Run off reports and accurately update data along with preparing and scanning medical casenotes/ED cards, uploading to the clinical portal.
- Be trained within NHS Fife Switchboard, handling calls, responding to pager requests, emergency calls, monitoring alarms and providing advice and support on telephony services.
- Adhere to duties requested by Health Records Supervisors to ensure efficiency across the 24/7 Inpatient and Emergency team.
- Maintain a high level of accuracy and attention to detail as data is uploaded to a live clinical system.
