Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
- Responsible for cost estimating, analysis, and controlling activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill.
- Analyzing to provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
- Developing and implementing project requirements for cost control in accordance with established Bechtel and client contractual requirements, objectives, and procedures.
- Ensuring work is completed as scheduled, supporting project organizational and administrative activities.
- Preparing cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis, and cost and quantity comparisons.
- Reviewing identified cost trends for cost effectiveness and suggesting alternatives when appropriate.
- Maintaining open communications with other organizations to support cost engineering analysis and control activities.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
- Experience and demonstrated skill in directing cost engineering functions,
including cost estimating, cost control, and cost analysis.
- Experience and demonstrated skill in establishing criteria for cost management activities.
- Demonstrated skill in identifying, analyzing, and solving problems driven by data.
- Competent in engineering, procurement, contracting, construction, and startup processes, in accordance with Bechtel's operational standards.
- Must have excellent communications and presentation skills to combine sound analytical cost engineering principles with the ability to summarize, reach appropriate conclusions, and present to management teams.
- Knowledge of Bechtel's standard cost reporting including the PFSR.
