Join Macquarie Asset Management as a Real Estate Asset Manager in our Santiago office!
As a Junior Asset Manager, you will be responsible for managing Core/Core+ assets in Chile and Peru’s office, retail, and logistics markets. Your main tasks will include the management, and oversight of service providers, along the direct relationship with our corporate tenants.
You will spend a significant portion of your time on site making sure our assets perform to their best in Santiago and Lima. The performance tracking tools will be mainly analyzing operating and financial reports, preparing monthly and quarterly portfolio reports, preparing ad hoc management reports for clients and Portfolio Managers, preparing property business plans and annual operating budgets, presenting cash flow forecasts to evaluate portfolio performance, performing hold/sell analyses and asset valuations.
As a manager you will review third party consultant reports including appraisals, environmental and insurance reports, confirming they meet our standards, not only from a financial and legal perspective, but also from an ESG and WHS standpoint. You will also closely collaborate with other internal teams globally and liaising with our Portfolio Managers in Europe and the US. You will also review market reports, establish commercial relations with other potential services providers, deal with the leasing team on all commercial aspects related to the assets and cooperate with the Enterprise team on certain corporate aspects that affect the properties.
In addition to your asset management activities, you will also be working with our Acquisitions Team providing support on sourcing and closing new opportunities in the region, mainly focusing in Chile, Peru and Mexico.
You will leverage your market knowledge on preparing investment recommendations for our clients and supporting the closing process with a strong focus on managing a smooth handover to the asset management team.
To be successful in this role, you will need a bachelor’s degree (or any combination of education or experience evaluated to be equivalent to Bachelor’s degree) in Business Administration, Real Estate or related field (Economics, Finance, Engineering or Architecture), ideally complemented by a Master’s degree in Business Administration or related field (MBA, Finance or Real Estate). You will have experience with preparing impeccable presentations and Excel spreadsheets, together with cash flow forecasting software such as Argus, rent roll analysis, detailed recovery structures, investment, valuation & reporting, modeling and auditing & risk analysis. You should also have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish. It is key that you hold at least 3 years of commercial real estate Asset Management experience. Acquisitions experience will be a plus. Prior experience must include asset management, property management or development.
