Ocean Product and Procurement Manager

To, in the sole interest of Geodis Ltda., be directly responsible for pursuing the best procurement framework and developing the consequent ocean products. To run the daily operations of the Ocean Product & Procurement Department, leading and coaching the team to meet individual and departmental goals regarding productivity, product definition as well as business strategy and procurement as such.

Main Responsibilities

Leadership

- Management of the Ocean Product and Procurement Department including financial issues, business and people development
- Management of department administration and company policy
- Development of all sea products within Chile
- Training and management of ocean product and procurement team towards maximum performance and job satisfaction
- Support the sales team when selling ocean products

Business

- Rate negotiations with shipping companies as well as suppliers, such as ports and NVOCCs
- Manage and administer Shipping Line contracts and negotiations
- Manage and negotiate shipping line allotments and control fulfilment on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
- Negotiate local side conditions, such as demurrage, payment terms etc.
- Work on maximizing profitability through smarter and better purchase negotiation
- Create Ocean Product service level
- Providing customer quotations (support any RFQ)
- Maintain quality standards for operational export/import procedures and improve them where necessary
- Work towards meeting customs demands
- Master the export/import process, actively supporting the team
- Establish and maintain a good working relationship with suppliers
- Manage the company's IT tools (GR8, etc.),



observing correct input and continuous updating
- Work on automation of current manual process jointly with the BE team (Master data file, automatic loading of itineraries, BSA booking date etc.)
- Create daily Master Data file for control of BSA and NAC contracts. Same as FAK.
- Maximize profitability.
- Create and develop more consol products — DE and US, after CN being first priority.
- Accompany BD in sales approach and weekly meetings.
- Develop best carrier relationship for Geodis.
- Amplify current carrier provider list (especially Asian carriers such as Cosco, Evergreen, OOCL, ONE, etc.).

Finance and Administration

- Meet set budget and sales goals
- Help to deal with suppliers and customer queries, including questions regarding accounts
- Arrange collections and deliveries for own client portfolio
- Know and support the development and implementation of the Integrated Management System.
- Lead the development of security and quality activities.
- Issue monthly management report and explain variance between budget and reality.

Position Requirements

- University degree or equivalent.
- Fluent in English (read, spoken and written).
- 4–5 years' experience in freight forwarding / logistics, with at least 3 years in a managerial role and a documented commercial record.
- Solid knowledge of sea freight industry and processes, including export/import operations, customs compliance and customs tariffs.
- Multimodal operational knowledge.
- Proficient with forwarding IT systems, export & invoicing platforms and reporting tools.
- Financial literacy: P&L;, pricing, margin management and local/global economic context.

- Strategic Procurement & Carrier Negotiation: Mastery in structuring and closing complex agreements with shipping lines and NVOCCs, FAK, NAC, BSA, allotments, demurrage & detention, free days, payment terms, balancing hard negotiation with long-term carrier partnership.

- Ocean Product Development & Innovation: Capacity to design and evolve competitive ocean products (consol, FCL, LCL) across key trade lanes, turning market opportunities into differentiated solutions that Sales and BD can monetize.

- Executive Communication & Reporting: Ability to communicate clearly and assertively with executive stakeholders (Managing Director, EVP FFW, regional teams), defending procurement positions with data, articulating variance vs. budget and influencing decisions upward.
