EHS & Security Coordinator | La Serena, Chile

NOIRLab is seeking a dedicated and experienced Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) & Security Coordinator to help ensure the safety and security of our people, facilities, and operations across Chilean sites, including observatories, offices, residential housing, and industrial facilities, with a strong emphasis on patrimonial security, protection of critical infrastructure, and safeguarding operational continuity.

Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive patrimonial security programs to protect personnel, assets, and infrastructure in observatory, office, industrial, and residential housing environments.
- Perform threat, vulnerability, and risk assessments (TVAs), identifying and mitigating potential physical and workplace security risks.
- Implement and oversee physical security systems, including CCTV, access control, alarm systems, and perimeter protection.
- Coordinate and supervise security contractors and guard services, ensuring compliance with established security standards and operational readiness.




- Lead and document security incident investigations, coordinating with local authorities and internal stakeholders as needed, while strengthening preventive and corrective measures.
- Support the development and implementation of Emergency Action Plans (EAP), emergency preparedness initiatives, safety audits, and disaster response activities.
- Develop and deliver security awareness and training programs for staff and contractors.
- Ensure adherence to Chilean and U.S. regulations, standards, and codes related to physical security and occupational safety.
- Promote a culture of accountability, operational discipline, continuous improvement, and risk awareness across all security and safety-related activities.
- Support secure operations for staff, visitors, contractors, and critical activities across all facilities.

Preferred Qualifications
- Technical or professional degree in Health
