The Country Manager is accountable for the comprehensive management of all facets of local business. In alignment with regional and global strategic definitions. They will be tasked with the formulation and execution of local business strategy, commercial planning, product and solutions development, and marketing strategy development. They will manage the team in a matrixed manner, maintain relationships with government entities, provide people leadership, and ensure the business complies with both local and integral laws and regulations, as well as company policies, all within a controlled environment.
Key responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Demonstrate strategic leadership by effectively envisioning, developing, and implementing the company's strategic direction in Chile.
- Responsible for identifying and mapping new business opportunities, ensuring the company's growth and expansion in the local market.
- Be able to make high-level decisions that align with the company's overall strategy, while also considering the unique elements of the local market.
- Possess the ability to inspire and drive the team towards achieving the company's strategic objectives.
- Be adept at strategic planning and execution, including the ability to negotiate and manage complex issues.
- Be able to analyze trends and understand factors affecting current and potential business results of the company, by monitoring the development of the payments, technology/big data, banking, and financial services industry.
- Lead Visa's strategy in collaboration with governments, central banks, and various regulatory institutions in Chile. Engage with these entities to enhance Visa's influence in the electronic payments industry.
- Increase awareness and preference for Visa among key financial and non-financial stakeholders in Chile’s ecosystem to ensure an equitable competitive environment.
- Serve as a spokesperson for Visa Inc., covering a range of areas of interest, from sales business to regulation, and from corporate affairs to corporate and social responsibility. Actively participate in and speak at conferences and business meetings and undertake media/public relations activities in the area to shape perceptions of the brand and the company.
- Cultivate strong relationships with decision-makers and C-level executives of both new and existing clients, as well as industry participants and influencers, including central banks, national banking associations, and partner companies. Stay informed about their perspectives on the development of the payments technology, banking, and financial services industry.
- Develop comprehensive client plans or oversee their creation. Provide advice on consumer-specific strategic ideas and innovative solutions to drive revenue growth.
- Share Visa's insights on industry developments and dynamics, and advise on how Visa's solutions can positively impact their results.

- Maintain a keen focus on a well-developed operational controls environment and a strict adherence to Visa compliance practices at all times.
