The Role
Our Payment Operations Officer is responsible for ensuring smooth, accurate, and timely responses to client and internal team queries. Day‑to‑day, you will assist in processing deposits and withdrawals, support the team with client money reconciliations, and liaise with banks and third‑party payment providers. This role also plays a key part in identifying potential money laundering and fraudulent transactions and escalating them to our compliance team. Key Responsibilities
- Allocate funding and process withdrawals promptly, keeping clients informed
- Communicate with banks and payment providers to ensure smooth transactions
- Monitor and respond to client inquiries in a timely and accurate manner
- Conduct AML checks and monitor transactions for fraud
- Escalate any AML, TF, or fraud concerns to the appropriate team
- Submit Unusual Activity Reports and handle card fraud cases
- Uphold compliance policies and conduct name matching for third‑party transactions
- Handle chargeback disputes and maintain effective communication with stakeholders
- Assist in payment provider reconciliation and process cash adjustments and transfers
- Support continuous improvement efforts and update the internal knowledge base
- Report IT issues and provide information to Compliance and payment providers
- Complete required training modules and verify bank statements
- Ensure completion of assigned tasks within the business day
About you
- Experience in Payment Operations / Treasury / Custody is a strong advantage
- Fluency in English and Spanish is a must‑have skill; Portuguese fluency is preferred
- Schedule flexibility, including weekly/monthly shift rotations, may be implemented based on department requirements
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective communication with teams and customers
- Aptitude for maintaining a meticulous focus on detail and accuracy
- Strong problem‑solving aptitude and a dedication to continuous process enhancements
- Exceptional time‑management skills, coupled with the ability to stay composed under pressure
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- A keen desire and commitment to ongoing learning and professional development
