Overview
The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, support workers, nurses and administrators. The team works across acute and community hospital sites, general practices, mental health services and specialist teams.
Role
We are seeking an experienced pharmacy technician registered with the GPhC who has proven post‑qualification experience to join our pharmacy team. The incumbent will be responsible for the operational management and development of the Dispensing Services and will work as part of the senior dispensary team across both sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operational management and development of Dispensing Services.
- Work as part of the senior dispensary team across both sites.
- Dispensing services and stock management.
- Management of staff where appropriate.
- Build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues and other healthcare professionals.
Essential Qualifications
- Registered pharmacy technician with the GPhC.
- Post‑qualification experience,
preferably in dispensing services and stock management.
- Experience of managing staff is preferred.
Experience & Skills
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
- Self‑motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent organisational and operational management abilities.
Legal & Work‑Authorisation
- Applicant must have a right to work in the UK; otherwise sponsorship will only be considered if the post is eligible.
- Applicants must enrol in the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme prior to appointment.

Working Hours & Pay
From 1 April 2026, the Agenda for Change full‑time working week will be reduced from 37 to 36 hours. Part‑time hours will be reduced pro‑rata, with a corresponding increase in the hourly rate to maintain pay. Salary is pro‑rata for part‑time hours.
