Overview
Our Environmental business in Santiago is seeking a Graduate Environmental / Chemical Engineer to join our growing team.
This position is based in Santiago, Chile. The primary purpose is to support geological and hydrogeological assessments for projects involving the investigation and evaluation of contamination across various environmental media, including soil, groundwater, and other matrices. You will contribute to the preparation of technical reports that support proposals, budgets, environmental impact assessments, and regulatory compliance for civil infrastructure and environmental remediation projects.
Drawing on knowledge from multiple scientific disciplines, the role may also involve the collection, analysis, and interpretation of environmental samples and data, as well as synthesizing findings and recommending actions based on measurement results and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Assist with the preparation of project-related technical deliverables, including proposals, environmental reports, technical specifications, and drawings, for review.
- Work as part of a general team, demonstrating accountability and the ability to collaborate effectively across different time zones.
- Independently progress assigned tasks to a logical and reasonable stage, proactively identifying clarification points, and resuming work efficiently with minimal rework once direction is received.
- Coordinate and support fieldwork activities related to environmental investigations, Operations, Maintenance & Monitoring (OM&M;) sites, and remediation projects. This may include drilling oversight, soil and vapour sampling, monitoring well installation, groundwater and surface water sampling, and excavation activities.
Qualifications
- Recent graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Chemical Engineering or equivalent program.
- 0-2 years of experience in the environmental engineering field.
- Adaptable, with the ability to support a variety of project types and take on diverse responsibilities.
- Collaborate effectively with remote team members across multiple projects and time zones.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and meeting challenging deadlines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to clearly convey technical information to a range of audiences, including subcontractors, field staff, clients, and internal colleagues.
