Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):

Technical Responsibilities

- Conduct and/or review geotechnical analyses for open pit slopes, underground excavations, pillars, and waste facilities.
- Develop, update and validate geotechnical, structural, and hydrogeological models.
- Perform and review numerical modelling using industry software (RS2/RS3, FLAC, PLAXIS, etc.).
- Validate design assumptions, uncertainties, and sensitivity analyses.
- Compare model predictions with monitoring data (reconciliation, NRMSE, calibration).

Governance & Assurance

- Ensure compliance with the Geotechnical Design Acceptance Criteria (DAC).
- Review and verify Critical Controls implementation and evidence.
- Support corporate-level technical assurance, audits, and independent reviews (GRB).
- Participate in Management of Change processes for geotechnical matters.

Operational Support

- Provide technical guidance to mine sites (open pit/UG) on sequencing, slopes, ground support, monitoring, and risk mitigation.
- Review geotechnical inputs to LoM, phase plans, pushbacks, and mine design updates.
- Collaborate with planning, operations, geology, and hydrogeology teams.

Reporting & Documentation

- Prepare technical reports, design reviews, memos, risk assessments, and presentations.
- Document assumptions, uncertainties,



and design decisions according to corporate governance requirements.

External Interface

- Coordinate and technically review work from consultants and third‑party studies.
- Support due diligence, business development evaluations, and conceptual studies when needed.

Position Requirements:

Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Geological Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or equivalent.
- Preferably a postgraduate degree in geotechnical/geomechanics.
- 7–12+ years of geotechnical experience in mining environments.
- Strong understanding of open pit geotechnical design; underground geomechanics experience is an asset.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency with geotechnical modelling software (RS2/RS3, FLAC3D, PLAXIS, Leapfrog, etc.).
- Strong understanding of geotechnical data collection, QA/QC, and characterization.
- Experience with monitoring systems (radar, prisms, GNSS, piezometers, MPBX, TDR, SAA).
- Familiarity with slope stability criteria, seismic analysis, and risk‑based decision frameworks.
- Clear and structured technical writing and reporting.
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to challenge and validate technical assumptions.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and influence without direct authority.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently.

- Based in the Santiago corporate office, with potential hybrid work arrangements.
- Occasional travel to mine sites within Chile or internationally as required for technical reviews, audits, and site support.
- Role does not involve shift-based or rotational work.
- May participate in field inspections, site walkdowns, and geotechnical reviews in operational environments.
