What To Expect
We are looking for a highly skilled and motivated Logistics & Product Compliance Manager to support implementing and maintaining the Compliance Program. The role requires experience with export compliance activities in the automotive industry, specifically in the spare parts sector. You will be part of a team that is managing strategic initiatives and continuous improvement efforts across Tesla’s EMEA Supply Management Team.
What You’ll Do
- Lead continuous compliance research to identify (local) regulations and industry standards, supporting Tesla in meeting requirements. Support market entries and establish compliance throughout the EMEA Distribution operations. Work with stakeholders on export licensing determinations and license collection.
- Coordinate LATAM market logistics and customs documentation requirements per country for all shipment routes (sea, air, road). Retrieve and maintain export documentation, including license applications, waivers, commodity classifications, and other relevant documents.
- Manage the repository to store information per country or customer. Monitor shipments and deliveries to ensure process adherence. Support certification and license renewal with service providers such as SGS, Intertek, Bureau Veritas, and TuV.
- Collaborate with the Master Data team to capture required information, especially Country of Origin data, for relevant departments such as Logistics, Trade, Distribution, Material Planning, and local government bodies.
- Coordinate initiatives to maintain an up‑to‑date information database tailored to business regions.
Set up and execute internal training and audits to keep Parts Homologation procedures at the highest standards.
- Serve as a general point of contact for consultation, resources, education, auditing, and coordination of product distribution compliance. Review ERP, WMS, and TMS systems for compliance or information blocks and resolve these with internal customers. Map compliance processes’ current state and close gaps throughout the supply chain and distribution operations.
- Support best practices for spare‑parts and product homologation activities through internal or external opportunities. Research process improvements, support day‑to‑day logistics operations, and establish clear metrics to achieve key results.
What You’ll Bring
- A minimum of 10 years’ experience with compliance programs in automotive or logistics.
- Knowledge of LATAM/General directives for product conformity and homologation.
- English, Portuguese, and Spanish are required. Experience with LATAM import activities and regulations.
- Understanding of LATAM product import compliance requirements and a strong track record in navigating product supply through compliance procedures.
- Effective communication of compliance information to various levels of (non‑technical) audiences.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality, meet strict deadlines, work with ambiguity, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Experience in Customs Brokerage is a plus.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software packages (Word, Excel, Outlook).
