Overview
The NHS Fife Pharmacy & Medicines Service serves a population of approximately 380,000 people and is provided by an integrated team of around 200 Pharmacy staff, including Pharmacists, Pharmacy Technicians, Support Staff, Nurses, and Administrators. The team works across Acute and Community hospital sites, General Practices, Mental Health services, and a range of specialist teams. Partnership working is at the core of our values, and we work closely with other members of the multi-disciplinary team, including our Community Pharmacy colleagues, to deliver the highest quality care for everyone in Fife.
We are looking for an experienced pharmacy support worker to join our pharmacy stores and distribution team. You will have knowledge of stock management and be able to work accurately in a busy environment. As this role includes the supervision of other pharmacy team members, you will have good communication skills and be able to organise workload for yourself and others. We do need you to be physically able to lift and handle medicines including infusion boxes and you may spend most of the day on your feet.
You will be required to complete GPhC accredited SVQ Pharmacy Services Award at SCQF Level 6 via the NHS Fife SVQ Centre (if not already completed). Our commitment to developing our workforce is a priority. NHS Fife has a range of development opportunities for all staff from entry into post and throughout the span of their career.
You will be based at the Victoria Hospital, Kirkcaldy but will be required to work at both Queen Margaret and Victoria Hospital Pharmacy Departments. To meet the needs of the service, you will work variable shifts between 08:00-18:00 Monday to Friday and participate in a weekend and Public Holiday Rota.
