Responsibilities
As Sales Director, you will lead a regional sales team, drive growth and expand Sovos’ presence in the market. You will develop and mentor your team, ensuring they possess deep knowledge of Sovos solutions and the sales process. Your role is pivotal in exceeding sales targets, building strategic relationships, and representing Sovos at industry events. You will orchestrate complex sales engagements, deliver tailored product demonstrations, and collaborate across channels to maximize impact.
- Lead, develop, and mentor a regional sales team to achieve superior performance
- Consistently exceed sales quotas by acquiring new accounts and expanding offerings within existing clients
- Build and execute strategic business plans to drive growth in your territory
- Maintain expert knowledge of industry‑specific compliance issues and challenge the status quo to help clients optimize processes
- Direct marketing initiatives and canvassing efforts to generate new business
- Establish alliances with consultancies and collaborate with Sovos representatives in other channels to leverage shared accounts
- Represent Sovos at local tradeshows and industry conferences, enhancing brand visibility
- Lead sales engagement teams to develop and deliver strategic Sovos solutions tailored to client needs
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Information Systems, Business Administration,
Marketing, or related field
- Minimum 5+ years of proven success in enterprise sales, preferably in tax automation, compliance, consulting services, or ERP software
- Strong understanding of database, application server, and web server architecture
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex, concurrent sales engagements and articulate financial/operational implications of SaaS vs. premise‑based solutions
- In‑depth knowledge of General Accounting and Sales & Use Tax Compliance
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for client meetings, trade shows, Sovos events, and special projects
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem‑solving skills; ability to interact effectively with colleagues and customers
- Proactive commitment to personal development, learning, and ethical conduct
