Role Purpose

Key Accountabilities (maximum 10)

1. Leads and manages the successful completion of all assigned development projects
2. Lead contributor who works with architecture and management in the technical design and implementation of system development projects with a focus on long‑term architectural improvements
3. Works collaboratively with management, architects, and software engineers to ensure optimal decisions are made to deliver the most efficient products
4. Motivates and mentors the team
5. Ensures that product and engineering are in agreement on product plans and strategies
6. Owns Agile team delivery and execution
7. Works with product to ensure that epics, stories, and tasks reflect the vision of the initiatives.
8. Understands internal and external environments to develop software that leverages commodity solutions and tradeoffs with competitive advantages

Decision‑Making and Influence

1. Experience leading software development projects and assisting teams with successful implementations
2. Ability to (verbally and in writing) communicate clearly and succinctly complex project plans, design, and technical issues, as well as business and product requirements
3. Strong organizational, time‑management, analytical, and decision‑making skills to efficiently evaluate, plan, and accomplish personal work goals

Knowledge, Skills & Attributes

Essential (maximum 10)

1. Detailed working knowledge of a System/Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
2. Solid understanding of technical release obstacles and how to overcome them
3.



Experience in designing, implementing, and testing complex systems
4. Previous demonstrated success in gathering information from a wide variety of sources and subsequently crafting it into effective and audience‑appropriate technical and non‑technical documentation
5. Proven track record in managing the requirements definition process and synthesizing for a variety of stakeholders representing large and complex organizations
6. Demonstrated capacity to effectively follow established processes to ensure the successful transfer of complex technical, process and organizational knowledge
7. Keen listening skills and ability to empathize with the speaker’s point through verbal and non‑verbal cues
8. Proven ability to work in a team‑oriented work culture, providing back‑up support to team members & establishing/maintaining effective work relationships with co‑workers within and across functional areas necessary
9. Experience working in a regulated technical environment and/or previous experience with clinical software is highly desirable

Desirable (maximum 5)

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or related technical major
2. Demonstrated experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
3. 2+ years as a Software Engineering leader
4. 3+ years functioning as a Software Engineer
5. Comparable experience will be considered
