Hays Senior Finance are working with an established business in the Conwy area who are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant due topany growth. The business has been operating in the local area for over 20 years and has a track record of growth and profitability – they are a premier employer in the local area.

As a Financial Accountant, you will have a proven background in technical accounting gained in either Practice or Industry. You will support the Financial Controller in the following areas –

- Prepare annual statutory accounts in accordance with relevant accounting standards ( IFRS & FRS 102)
- Support the Financial Controller with year‑end audit file preparation, liaising with external auditors, and resolving technical accounting queries
- Ensurepliance with all statutory filing deadlines panies House, HMRC, etc.)
- Maintain and update accounting policies in line with regulatory changes
- Prepare and submit accurate VAT returns for both the UK and IE
- Review VAT treatment ofplex transactions to ensurepliance with UK and international VAT rules
- Monitor changes in VAT legislation and assess their impact on the business
- Support VAT audits and queries from tax authorities
- Assist with corporate taxputations, year‑end tax provisioning, and deferred tax calculations
- Prepare data for corporation tax returns and ensure timely submission
- Provide detailed technical analysis for unusual orplex transactions (leases, revenue recognition, asset impairments, financial instruments, group recharges,



etc.)
- Monitor emerging technical standards and assess their business implications
- Maintain strong balance sheet control, including reconciliations, substantiation, and documentation of key accounts
- Implement process improvements and automation to increase accuracy and efficiency
- Support internal audits and ensure remediation of control weaknesses
- Leading key areas of the month‑end close process ensuring accurate journal postings and maintaining strong balance sheet control
- Prepare key technical journals (accruals, prepayments, tax adjustments, provisions)
- Produce high‑quality management information
- Work closely with Group Finance, Tax, Treasury, and Operational Finance teams
- Provide technical guidance to non‑financial stakeholders
- Support financial due diligence activities for acquisitions and assist in the integration of acquired entities into Group reporting, including alignment of accounting policies, chart of accounts, internal controls, and month-end processes
- Support post‑deal review processes to validate assumptions, monitor deal performance, and ensure accurate reporting of acquisition-related adjustments
