DescriptionThis role coordinates and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. This person inspects the work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. This position maintains and updates environmental policy and procedure manuals. In this role the employee will be tasked with ensuring compliance with and training employees on all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization.Develop, implement and manage an effective Environmental, Health and Safety Management Program that establishes a proactive approach to prevent environmental hazard, occupational injuries and illnesses, and reducing ergonomic risksCreate a strong EHS culture that engage employeesSupport efforts to ensure that all key EHS operational controls are in placeMaintain compliance with all Environmental, Health & Safety applicable laws and regulationsLead and coordinate ESH training to new and current employeesInterlocutor between Environmental, health and safety entities and the company.Control and command the effective purchase of personal protective elementsCarry out and manage the emergency plan of the companyVisits to branches in order to audit compliance in legal matters, risk management and environmental managementValidate and control the performance of pre and occupational examsAnalyze and investigate the causes of serious and / or fatal work accidents that occurred in the company, occupational diseases and other damages that may derive from work activity,
proposing the adoption of the necessary corrective measures to reduce and / or eliminate themMaintain monthly reporting about performance of EHS plans and goalsSupporting Environmental, health and safety efforts at the site and vendorsWork closely with management and facility employees at all levels to facilitate, lead, and/or assist teams in achieving department and plant goals as related to MESH, both safety standards and compliance to environmental/permit regulations.Experience:Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Environmental, Health and Safety - requiredEducation:Bachelors Degree requiredSkills:Minimum of 2 years’ experience in the mining/electrical/manufacturing industries - preferredTraveling Requirements:25-50%Working Environment:Outside Sales – Work is generally performed in an office environment, but employee may need to travel to customer sites or warehouse facilities. Driving may be required for an extended period of time with frequent stops and starts.
