Diesel Mechanic - Generator Service Technician - English required

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Diesel Mechanic / Generator Service Technician to join our growing team in Ireland. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, servicing, maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of diesel-powered generators across a range of customer sites.

This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated technician who enjoys field-based work, problem-solving, and delivering high-quality service.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance on diesel generators.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and engine faults.
- Carry out inspections, testing, and commissioning of generator systems.
- Respond to breakdowns and emergency call-outs when required.
- Complete service reports and maintenance records accurately.
- Ensure all work is carried out safely and in compliance with company procedures and industry standards.
- Maintain a professional and customer-focused approach while working on client sites.

Requirements

- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic,



Generator Technician, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines and generator systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and basic electrical faults.
- Valid driver's licence.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites across Ireland.
- Good communication skills and a strong commitment to health and safety.
- English language proficiency at B2 level or higher is required.

Preferred Qualifications

- Technical qualification in Diesel Mechanics, Heavy Vehicle Mechanics, or a related field.
- Experience working with leading generator brands such as Cummins, Perkins, FG Wilson, Caterpillar, or similar.
- Experience with control panels and generator commissioning is an advantage.
