Project Overview

Ujina Growth Project

The mining area is located 185 km southeast of Iquique, at 4,400 meters above sea level, in Tarapacá Region. The main objective of Doña Inés de Collahuasi’s project is to increase the concentrator’s throughput capacity from an average of 170 ktpd to 210 ktpd. Currently, the awarded service corresponds to the execution of Package PG1 - the first of three packages contemplated for this project - which involves the detailed engineering and procurement (EP) of six flotation cells, and on-site support during the construction phase.

Service for package PG1, which began on August 1, 2023, is a continuation of the study phase (FEL3) and is expected to be completed in February 2025.

Job Summary In this role, you will participate in the design, development, and evaluation of electrical components and processes. You will collaborate and support other engineering disciplines for electrical engineering matters. Your professional work knowledge and abilities through the application of standard electrical engineering techniques and criteria will enable you to make impactful contributions to the team.

Major Responsibilities

- Evaluating, selecting, and applying standard electrical engineering methods, techniques, procedures, and criteria, using independent judgment in making adaptations and modifications.

- Participating in the design, development, modification and evaluation of components and processes used in the generation, manipulation, transmission, and storage of electricity utilizing relevant Engineering Department Procedures (EDPs), design standards and guides, and Bechtel Standard Application Programs (BSAPs).

- Coordinating work and collaborating with other engineering disciplines.

- Providing technical assistance to other electrical personnel and will interact with project functions, the customer, and regulatory agency personnel in the resolution of complex regulatory issues and industry codes and standards.

- Aiding project and construction management in identifying and complying with project electrical requirements and in addressing issues as they arise during project execution

- Prepares or assists in preparation of conceptual studies, designs, reports, or proposals.

Education And Experience Requirements

Requires a bachelor’s degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience; or 6-9 years of relevant work experience.

Required Knowledge And Skills

- Knowledge of systems, calculations, equipment, applications of methods, materials, and computer applications within the Electrical engineering discipline.

- Knowledge of engineering work planning and control methods and of precedents in the Electrical discipline and principles and practices of inter-related disciplines.

- Good knowledge of major industry or regulatory standards and particularly in Chilean Standard.

- Intermediate English level (desirable).

Resumen del Proyecto

Proyecto Crecimiento Ujina El área minera está ubicada 185 km al sureste de Iquique, a 4.400 metros sobre el nivel del mar, en la Región de Tarapacá. El proyecto de Minera Doña Inés de Collahuasi tiene como principal objetivo lograr un aumento de capacidad de procesamiento de la concentradora, a partir de la capacidad media de 170 ktpd a 210 ktpd. Actualmente, el servicio adjudicado corresponde a la ejecución del Paquete PG1 -el primero de tres paquetes contemplados para este proyecto- que involucra la ingeniería de detalle y adquisiciones (EP) de seis celdas de flotación, y soporte en terreno durante la fase de construcción.

El servicio por el paquete PG1 comenzó el 1 agosto 2023 y es la continuación de la fase de estudio (FEL3) y se espera su finalización en febrero de 2025.

Resumen del Puesto

Este rol, será responsable de participar en el diseño,



desarrollo y evaluación de componentes y procesos eléctricos. Colaborará y apoyará a otras disciplinas de ingeniería para asuntos de ingeniería eléctrica. Sus conocimientos y habilidades de trabajo profesional le permitirán hacer contribuciones impactantes al equipo, a través de la aplicación de técnicas y criterios estándar de ingeniería eléctrica.

Principales Responsabilidades

- Evaluar, seleccionar y aplicar métodos, técnicas, procedimientos y criterios estándar de ingeniería eléctrica, utilizando un juicio independiente al realizar adaptaciones y modificaciones.

- Participar en el diseño, desarrollo, modificación y evaluación de componentes y procesos utilizados en la generación, manipulación, transmisión y almacenamiento de electricidad utilizando Procedimientos relevantes del Departamento de Ingeniería (EDPs), estándares y guías de diseño, y Programas de Aplicación Estándar de Bechtel (BSAP).

- Coordinar el trabajo y colaborar con otras disciplinas de la ingeniería.

- Brindar asistencia técnica a otro personal eléctrico e interactuar con las funciones del proyecto, el cliente y el personal de las agencias reguladoras en la resolución de problemas regulatorios complejos y códigos y estándares de la industria.

- Ayudar a la gestión de proyectos y construcción a identificar y cumplir con los requisitos eléctricos del proyecto y a abordar los problemas que surjan durante la ejecución del proyecto.

- Preparar o asistir en la preparación de estudios conceptuales, diseños, informes o propuestas.

Requisitos Educación y Experiencia

Requiere una licenciatura (o equivalente internacional) y de 2-5 años de experiencia relevante.

Conocimientos y habilidades requeridas

- (Requerido) Conocimiento de sistemas, cálculos, equipos, aplicaciones de métodos, materiales y aplicaciones informáticas dentro de la disciplina de ingeniería eléctrica.

- Conocimiento de métodos de planificación y control de trabajos de ingeniería y de precedentes en la disciplina eléctrica y principios y prácticas de disciplinas interrelacionadas.

- Buen conocimiento de las principales normas industriales o regulatorias y particularmente en la Norma Chilena.

- (Deseable) Nivel intermedio de inglés.
