The Chile Sales Director is responsible for leading the commercial operations in Chile, driving the achievement of budgeted invoiced sales, net sales, gross margin, and operating profit targets.
This role is accountable for accelerating business growth by developing and executing sales strategies aligned with market trends, customer opportunities, and competitive dynamics to expand distribution and increase market share.
The Sales Director serves as the primary representative of the company with key customers, distributors, suppliers, and external stakeholders, while playing a critical role in shaping the strategic direction and driving the ongoing transformation of the Chile business as a key member of the country leadership team.
- Set and achieve sales, financial planning, and customer contribution targets across the market's entire product portfolio and all distribution channels.
- Lead the commercial strategy, including pricing, discounts, and trade terms, in alignment with integral guidelines.
- Drive cultural transformation by partnering with cross-functional teams to promote organizational change.
- Develop and implement account and channel strategies that deliver transformational growth within priority customers while strengthening the base business through market insights and analysis.
- Lead and deliver major customer tender negotiations.
- Oversee customer negotiations related to promotional planning and in-store execution to maximize market performance.
- Drive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP;) objectives through accurate sales forecasting and annual business planning, including profit and loss projections.
- Lead the Chile Commercial team while ensuring high service levels from outsourced providers (e.g., field sales teams).
- Foster a culture of collaboration,
accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
- Coach and develop direct reports by providing the resources, guidance, and support needed to achieve agreed business objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree (MBA, MSc, or MA) is a plus.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
- Professional proficiency in English.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in FMCG sales.
- Broad P&L; management exposure.
- Proven experience in sales and/or marketing, including managing strategic customer relationships.
- Experience working within a complex, matrixed organization.
- Demonstrated ability to contribute strategically while leading, motivating, and inspiring teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with internal and external business partners.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
