Job Overview

Capri EG Chile SpA is seeking an experienced, high-efficiency Port Operations Supervisor (Supervisor de Operaciones Portuarias) to manage daily maritime logistics, terminal workflows, and cargo handling operations. In this role, you will oversee vessel loading and unloading, manage port personnel and stevedores, and enforce strict adherence to safety, environmental, and Chilean maritime customs regulations to ensure smooth throughput and zero operational downtime.

Key Responsibilities

- Oversee and coordinate daily port and terminal operations, including vessel mooring, cargo handling, container discharge, and staging area logistics.
- Direct and supervise port personnel, equipment operators, and stevedoring crews to maximize operational efficiency and maintain safety standards.
- Ensure strict compliance with Maritime Authority (DIRECTEMAR) regulations, port safety standards, environmental protocols, and OSHA guidelines.
- Coordinate with ship captains, shipping agents, customs brokers, and transport contractors to streamline vessel turnaround times and freight movement.
- Monitor heavy machinery usage (cranes, reach stackers, forklifts) and coordinate preventative maintenance with engineering teams.
- Conduct shift handovers, log daily operational metrics, track Key Performance Indicators (KPIs),



and report incidents or delays to port leadership.

Requirements & Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Technical Qualification in Maritime Operations, Port Management, Logistics Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of supervisory experience in port, terminal, or heavy maritime logistics operations in Chile.
- Strong knowledge of Chilean port regulations, maritime safety protocols (ISPS Code, DIRECTEMAR directives), and international shipping practices.
- Demonstrated leadership ability to manage shift teams and resolve operational bottlenecks under fast-paced terminal conditions.
- Proficiency with Port Management Systems (PMS), Terminal Operating Systems (TOS), and MS Office Suite.
- Professional fluency in Spanish; intermediate to advanced English proficiency is required to communicate with international vessel crews and shipping lines.
