Project Overview
Mining and Metals
Increasing production of critical minerals provides key components of clean energy technologies, from wind turbines to batteries. This shift to clean energy—and the need for commodities—is critical to underpinning the energy transition. At Bechtel,
our teams extract these vital resources to support net zero in a way which is more sustainable than ever before.
Job Summary
For this position, the candidate will be required to have a strong background in piping/layout design and multidisciplinary 3D plant modeling, preferably using S3D.
As a PD&P; Designer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining 3D piping models, and producing piping layouts in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes, standards, and industry best practices. You will work closely with process, mechanical, civil/structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines to ensure effective integration within the overall plant design.
The role requires proficiency in 3D design tools and a thorough understanding of Piping/Layout design principles, including equipment interfaces, piping supports, accessibility, operability, maintainability, and constructability requirements. The successful candidate will be capable of generating and extracting accurate 2D orthographic drawings, piping isometrics, and other deliverables directly from the 3D model while working under minimal supervision.
Major Responsibilities
- Developing detailed 3D piping models and layouts for industrial and mining projects.
- Creating and optimizing equipment, piping, and plant layouts to ensure safe, operable, maintainable, and constructible designs
