An exciting opportunity for an experienced and forward‐thinking Lead Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) has arisen to join NHS Fife's General Surgery service.
As a senior clinician you will combine expert practice with strategic leadership, playing a key part in delivering safe, effective and high‐quality care across elective and unscheduled surgical pathways.
Responsibilities
Provide autonomous clinical care, managing patients from initial assessment through to diagnosis, treatment and discharge;
Lead the ongoing development of the ANP workforce, ensuring consistent standards of advanced practice, supporting staff through supervision and appraisal, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement;
Drive service redesign, quality improvement and audit activity to enhance patient flow, experience and outcomes;
Participate in multidisciplinary team activities, contributing to frontline clinical care and strategic service improvement;
Promote a patient‐centred approach within the Surgical Admissions Unit (AU2) and across the service's planned and urgent pathways.
Qualifications
Master's qualification in Advanced Practice (or equivalent) with independent prescribing (V300);
Strong clinical background within General Surgery or a related specialty;
Credible leadership experience with the ability to influence practice and support staff development;
Experience in operational and strategic service improvement;
Commitment to professional development and evidence‐based practice.
