Responsibilities Initiate and coordinate the development of appropriate methods for obtaining relevant economic data. Ensure the accuracy, consistency, timeliness, and comparability of the collected data. Plan and conduct analytical work programs in national accounts, external sector, balance of payments, sector indicator, and other structural economic statistics and short‑term statistics. This may include identifying projects, conducting analysis, and participating in technical advisory activities for national capacity building. Supervise and contribute to the development of relevant databases, web publishing tools, and other software for the collection, storage, and distribution of statistical data while also monitoring the updating, maintenance, and expansion of a microdata database of economic surveys. Lead and coordinate the International Price Comparison Programme (ICP) with the integral office and within ECLAC. Coordinate the development and implementation of the ICP Programme with countries in the LAC region.



Undertake methodological research concerning standards on concepts, definitions, and classifications to assist countries and other constituents in strengthening their statistical development in national accounts and other macroeconomic topics. Follow up the methodological revision process of the national accounts system and give a regular update and other manuals of methods related to macroeconomic statistics. Develop new or improved statistical methods and quantitative models for analysis, generation of regional indicators, and specific studies. Arrange and coordinate seminars, workshops, expert meetings, and more. Coordinate administrative matters associated with the management of the economic statistics unit and projects with other international organisations. Organise, manage, and supervise the work of the section assigned. Collect and analyse data to identify trends or patterns and provide insights through graphs, charts, tables
