The Vera C. Rubin Observatory is entering the exciting phase of integration and commissioning and is expected to become operational this year. The project is seeking a qualified Electrical Technician . This hands‑on role will support the installation, reliability, and safety of the observatory’s low‑voltage and weak‑current electrical systems. The role emphasizes correct installation practices, compliance with electrical standards, troubleshooting, and collaboration with both in‑house teams and external contractors. Essential Functions Perform assigned electrical work and installations correctly under the supervision of the Summit Electrical Lead. Install a wide range of electrical systems and components, including wiring, conduits, boxes, cable trays, panels, outlets, lighting, switches, and other general or subsystem‑specific equipment. Support the Site Manager and Safety Officer in complying with organizational safety procedures and applicable regulatory standards. Ensure that all electrical work complies with project plans, documentation,



and instructions, as well as with Chilean Electrical Norms and other applicable standards. Work and collaborate effectively with others on the team. Align work in the area with institutional goals, strategic plans, and core values. Comply with occupational health and safety standards established for the area of responsibility. Participate in continuous improvement processes and user‑focused service. Act with professionalism and demonstrate a commitment to ongoing training and development. Specific Competencies Install both fixed and mobile electrical equipment. Modify or build new or existing conduit systems to optimize resource use.
